At the Sakkara Necropolises you will walk through an open book of ancient Egyptian history. Sakkara was used as a burial site from the Early Dynastic period, became the main burial ground of the Old Kingdom, and remained in use through ancient times into the Greco-Roman era. With a professional guide, you will explore a large concentration of tombs and pyramids that illustrate this long span of history. As you move through the site, you will see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser and the pyramids of King Unas and King Titi, and visit the Imhotep Museum. Along the way you will enter several famous tombs, including the Tomb of Ti (Fifth Dynasty), the Mastaba of Kagemni and the Tomb of Ankh Mahor, often called the Physicians’ tomb.
