Overview

You will be picked up at Safaga Port-gate for a private tour to the ancient capital of Thebes, modern-day Luxor. The day begins at the Valley of the Kings, where you will descend into three royal tombs. At Deir El Bahari you will visit the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut; the guide will point out the most beautiful murals and you will have time to wander the terraces and chapels yourself. There will be a quick photo-stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the two statues that guard the ongoing excavation of the palace of Amenhotep III. You will cross to the East Bank for lunch at a 5* hotel or a good local restaurant, then explore the vast Karnak Temple complex. Here pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut and Ramses II performed sacred rituals; the site contains holy lakes, hypostyle halls, obelisks, pylons and shrines. You will also have a photo stop at Luxor Temple, which decorates the banks of the River Nile. After a relaxing night at a 5* hotel, you will be brought back to Safaga Port.
