Along the way you will also see the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, who came from Istanbul to build the mosque for Mohamed Ali, ruler of Egypt from 1805 to 1849, who reigned for over 45 years.
