Private Day Trip to the Pyramids and Citadel Of Salah El Din from Cairo

Overview

You will visit some of Cairo’s most famous historic sites, beginning with the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx on the Giza plateau. Here you will see the monumental external forms of the ancient structures and the iconic lion-bodied Sphinx close to the pyramids. After that, you will travel on to the Citadel of Salah El Din, where the skyline is dominated by the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque and its distinctive domes and minarets. Later the tour continues to Old Cairo, the site of a city that pre-dated Cairo and home to many historic churches and a Roman fort. As you move through this older quarter, you will encounter a range of religious and military architecture that reflects different periods of the area’s past. Lunch will be offered at a local restaurant of our choice, giving you time to rest and sample a local setting before the day’s final visits.
