Overview
You will travel through the great ancient sites of Luxor and Aswan, encountering some of Egypt’s most famous monuments. In Luxor you’ll see the vast columns and avenues of Karnak Temple and the riverside grandeur of Luxor Temple. As you move through the area you’ll visit Hatshepsut Temple and explore the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, with their carved tombs and funerary chambers, and stop at Medinet Habu. Further along the Nile, the journey continues through sites such as Esna and El-Kab, and to riverside temples including Edfu and Kom Ombo. You’ll pass the sandstone quarries and reliefs at Gebel el-Silsila, visit the island sanctuary of Philae, and view the monumental Abu Simbel temples and the Nubian temples. Along the way you may have the chance to sail on a traditional felucca, and booking a Nile cruise is offered as an option to extend your time on the river. The experience focuses on seeing these ancient landmarks and understanding their significance as you travel between them.
