Overview

On this private trip from Luxor, an Egyptologist guide will take you across the West Bank to explore some of ancient Egypt’s most famous sites. You’ll enter the Valley of the Kings and walk among the mountain-cut tombs where 64 rulers of ancient Egypt are buried. As you move through the hieroglyph-coated chambers, your guide will explain the scenes and inscriptions and tell you about the pharaohs who once lay here. You’ll also visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and learn about the life and reign of one of Egypt’s few female pharaohs. Along the way, you’ll stop to see the Colossi of Memnon, the two towering statues that mark the area. Throughout the trip, your Egyptologist will provide historical context and insights into the architecture, carvings and funerary beliefs that link these monuments.
