Luxor trip mini from Hurghada private

Overview
This mini trip from Hurghada takes you from the Red Sea to Luxor, with a visit to the Valley of the Queens. The tour starts from Hurghada and will give you time to explore Luxor’s ancient sites, centered on the burial monuments that made this area central to Egypt’s history. Luxor (Arabic: Al Uqsur) lies in the south of Egypt and was the capital of ancient Egypt for more than 500 years, known in antiquity as Waset, meaning “the scepter.” You will learn about the city’s long history, which reaches back before the 18th dynasty, and hear how the great king Montuhotep of the 11th dynasty reunited the two parts of Egypt. The city rose to new prominence under King Kamos, who defeated the Hyksos (enemies from Asia Minor) and made Luxor a political and military centre. Luxor is said to contain almost 75% of Egypt’s monuments and about 30% of the world’s ancient monuments. As you move through the sites, you will encounter a place that was a pilgrimage destination in antiquity, admired by Greeks and Romans, and long associated with advances in arts, construction, engineering and medicine — and where the bodies of many famous kings were embalmed.
