Full-Day Tour of Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples from Luxor
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
From the moment your tour starts, your guide will give you full attention. Once in the car, they will talk to you about the sights along the way and other aspects of the tour that will interest you. You will drive to Edfu to visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus, considered by most to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. You will then be taken to the Temple of Kom Ombo, which stands on high ground overlooking the Nile. Unlike many temples, it has a double entrance, each dedicated to a different divinity: Haroeris, shown with a falcon head, and Sobek, shown with a crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honour of those two deities — the crocodile-headed Sobek, a god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, an ancient falcon-headed form of Horus — and you will see how their dual dedication shapes the temple’s design and symbolism.
