Overview

Your tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo and a scenic 95 km drive to El Fayoum. Along the way you’ll pass Qarun Lake, where you’ll learn about its rich history, and arrive at Wadi El Rayan, a protected area known for its striking desert landscapes. After a rest at the camp, you’ll take a 4x4 ride to Wadi Hitan (the Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO World Heritage site notable for its ancient fossils. You’ll also visit Magic Lake, where you can enjoy a swim in the cool waters, and explore Egypt’s only waterfalls, a rare natural sight in the desert. On the return to camp you’ll pass Mudawara Mountain for views over the surrounding desert. At camp you’ll have a BBQ lunch and sip Bedouin tea flavoured with cardamom. You’ll also have the chance to try sandboarding with expert guidance. After a full day of exploration and activities, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.
