Overview
Your Egypt Royal Tours guide will be waiting for you, holding an Egypt Royal Tours sign so you won't need to look for them—they will find you. You will start at the Egyptian Museum, which displays more than 250,000 pieces covering over 5,000 years of Egyptian art. As you move through the galleries, you will see the Tutankhamen room, with treasure, jewellery and gold that were enclosed in his tomb more than 3,500 years earlier and were discovered when his tomb was excavated in 1920. Next you will visit the Citadel of Salah El Din and the nearby Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. The mosque was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish architect who came from Istanbul to build it for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt from 1805–1849, who reigned for over 45 years. After a lunch in a nice restaurant, you will continue to the City of the Dead, a very large and old cemetery that dates back to the 14th century AD. The tour will finish with your return to the hotel.
