Edfu Temple from Luxor
A trusted partner experience, hand-picked and featured on This is Egypt.

Overview
On a guided journey with a NASCO Tours representative, you will experience the Edfu Temple, a well-preserved ancient Egyptian monument on the western bank of the Nile. Dedicated to the god Horus, the temple was built over generations during the Ptolemaic period, from Ptolemy III to Ptolemy XII. Along the way, you will learn about the temple’s historical importance and how its long construction reflects its enduring role in ancient religion. You will also hear why the temple survived so well: it was buried under debris for centuries and later uncovered and restored by the archaeologist Auguste Mariette in 1860. As you move through the site with your representative, you will gain context about its origins and preservation. Your visit ends with a return to your hotel.
