Overview

A Guide of Egypt tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Egyptian Museum, where you will explore a rare collection spanning some 5,000 years of art. The museum displays artifacts from the Pharaonic period and presents over 250,000 objects. As you move through the galleries, you will see the famous Tutankhamen collection — treasure, gold and jewellery that were enclosed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years before their discovery in the 1920s. The museum is considered by many to hold the largest and most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world, and its exhibits offer a close look at ancient craftsmanship and funerary culture. You will then visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque inside the Citadel of Salah El Din. After the Citadel, the tour continues into Islamic Cairo where you can explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar. Shops here are known for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold and antiques, so you will have plenty to see as you walk the streets and stalls. Later you will be transferred back to your hotel.
