Overview
From the moment your tour guide meets and assists you at Cairo International Airport, you will spend a few hours exploring some of the city's most famous ancient sites. You will be taken to see the three Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, and the Great Sphinx, with its pharaonic human head and lion’s body. As you move through the Giza plateau, you will also visit the Valley Temple in front of the Sphinx, which is dedicated to King Chephren. You will then be transferred to the Egyptian Museum, which houses a wide range of Pharaonic antiquities. Highlights include the original treasure room of King Tutankhamen, with gold and jewellery dating back more than 3,500 years. The visit gives you close-up views of ancient artefacts and an overview of Egypt’s long history. The tour also includes a visit to an old church of Egypt before you are driven back to Cairo Airport. Along the way, your guide will assist and provide context about the sites you see, helping you make the most of your time in Cairo.
