You’ll take a private full-day tour of Egypt’s most famous ancient sites with a qualified Egyptologist as your guide. The day's highlights include the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, entry into one of the Great Pyramids, the ancient capital of Memphis and the necropolis at Sakkara — where you’ll view the Step Pyramid about 27 km from Cairo. Dahshur is also included, so you’ll see a range of pyramid styles and cemetery complexes. As you move through each site, your Egyptologist will explain the history and architecture behind the monuments, helping you put the ruins in context. You’ll stand close to the Sphinx, walk among the Giza pyramids and enter the interior passage of a Great Pyramid. At Sakkara you’ll take in the iconic stepped form that marks an early stage in pyramid design, and at Dahshur and Memphis you’ll see other important phases of ancient Egyptian building and burial practice. The tour is private, so the experience will focus on the places and stories that interest you.
