Overview
This private full-day trip with your own Egyptologist guide begins at the Egyptian Museum, home to ancient gold, mummies and more. As you move through the displays, your guide will provide context and stories about the artefacts and the people who created them. You will continue to the Coptic area, where early Christians built Abu Serga, the Hanging Church and the cave church where the Holy Family stayed for three months. Along the way you will visit the Citadel of Saladin, one of the oldest medieval citadels, and learn about its place in Egypt’s history. The day will end with a walk together to Khan el-Khalili, one of the oldest medieval souqs, where you can absorb the atmosphere of the bazaar as your guide points out notable sights.
