Overview

This private 2-day tour will take you through the major sites of ancient Luxor on both the West and East Banks of the Nile. On the West Bank you will visit the Valley of the Kings, where many of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs were buried, and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. You will see the Colossi of Memnon and explore Deir el-Medina (the Valley of the Artisans), with its workers’ village and decorated tombs. The day will include a visit to the impressive Temple of Medinat Habu, one of Luxor’s best-preserved ancient monuments. On the East Bank you will enjoy a guided visit to Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built, and learn about its monumental pylons, avenues and temples. You will also explore Luxor Temple, a major example of ancient Egyptian architecture that has stood for thousands of years. Along the way you will see and learn about the archaeological treasures and historical context that link these sites, giving a rounded view of Luxor’s ancient past.
